  • Bicycling

My love of bicycling started in Cleveland, Ohio. As I was growing up, I would either travel by bus or bike. A neighbor that used to live on the street behind ours, moved away and I took a trip to visit their house by bike. It was almost a 2 mile trip. I got in trouble for that ride. I used my brother's three speed bike at college and rode around campus and Upper Arlington. Mike introduced me to longer distance rides. He helped me purchase my first 10 speed and trained together to ride TOSRV. 105 miles from Columbus to Portsmouth and back the next day.

  • Camping

Our Fox Family camping adventures started with tent camping while during our weeklong bicycle trips & tent camping with the Perkins family. We later graduated to a Coleman tent trailer for our trips and then a HiLo "Funlite" telescoping trailer.

  • Crafts

    • Crewel Embroidery - Emboridery done using yarn instead of thread
    • Needlepoint - Still working on my first picture that has panels for the four seasons
  • Hiking

I define Hiking as walking in beautiful surroundings. Most of my hiking has been done in Ohio in various State parks and preserves, like Old Man's Cave and Conkle's Hollow. Mike and I have hiked in the Grand Canyon (a couple of times) and Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific in Hawaii. On our last trip to the Grand Canyon, I broke my leg while on the trail.

  • Walking

I enjoy walking the dogs around the neighborhood. Mike and I have also done various 5K events as walkers. While we were training for that last Grand Canyon trip, we also trained to walk in a half-marathon (13.2 miles). Later that year, after my leg was healed, we did the Columbus half-marathon. That was a couple of years ago, perhaps it is time to train for another one?
